'The Dead'
Questions About Angels 'The Dead' -Billy Collins
"they are looking down through the glass bottom boats of heaven"
Once again, quite breathtaking images. Though I find it quite interesting how you've used infants to represent the poem. It's a bit contradictory to the last sentence of the poem where it says "which makes them lift their oars and fall silent and wait, like parents, for us to close our eyes". I mean I would expect much resilient elder people than vulnerable children to be looking out for me .........but then again they often say children are little angels on earth (p.s. do you think they grow when they get to heaven if they die early).
